Wakōcha translate to "black tea“ or specifically, "Japanese black tea“. Japan is well-known to producing green tea hence black tea cultivation is very rare and produced only in very small volumes by enthusiastic private tea farms. Japanese black tea undergoes a lighter fermentation than comparable black teas in India or China.
Our Wakocha Miyako is a Japanese black tea made using tea leaves from Kyoto. When brewed, it is characterized by a beautiful reddish-brown liquor with low astringency, rounding up with a sweet and warm fruity taste.
