N.301, Nepal Gold Shangrila

Our Nepal Gold Shangrila is an organic black tea that hail from a famous tea factory – The Shangri-la.

The teas are cultivated in Ilam, Nepal at about 5900ft above sea level at the bottom of Mt. Kanchanjunga, the third highest peak of the world and is in close proximity to Darjeeling.

The Darjeeling-styled tea leaves (China Jat) are grown by small independent farmers and then manufactured and processed by the Shangri-La factory. Pure water from the Himalayas nourishes the tea bushes in the area, with no pesticides required by the skillful farmers. The result is beautifully shaped leaves with an abundance of golden tips.

The steeped tea has an aromatic nose of malted barley while the infusion produces notes of chocolate and a fresh wisp of rose. The tea is just lightly astringent, but it can manage a full steep with near boiling water while maintaining a balance body and flavour.  

Brewing method: 2 gram per 200 ml water
Steeping time: 2 - 3 mins 
Brewing temperature: 90 - 95 °C
